Frequently Asked Questions What happens at the first session? You have the opportunity to talk to me about what brings you to counselling and then we discuss where therapy could help, as well as deciding whether I am the right counsellor for you. How many sessions? As many, or as few, as you feel are necessary. Some people come for one or two and others attend over a period of months. Weekly counselling is desirable, but realistically some clients are unable to commit to this for a variety of reasons and I do occasionally see clients on a fortnightly or monthly basis. How long is each session? 50 minutes, either at the same time each week or, if required, at varied times, subject to availability. I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments. Where does counselling take place? I have a ground floor counselling room in my house in Littlehampton, which is within a five minute walk from the town centre and the railway station. There is free nearby parking in Goda Road and Fitzalan Road, as well as a public car park at the nearby Somerfield supermarket (map). Is counselling for couples offered? No, I work with individuals only. How much does it cost? £30 per session. Payment can be made either by cash or cheque. Reduced rates are available for trainee counsellors requiring personal therapy as part of their course. |
